More than 17,000 lucky fans were allowed inside the Staples Center on Tuesday to commemorate Michael Jackson. But for the millions of fans who didn’t have a ticket, Twitter served as their backstage pass to the Los Angeles memorial service for the King of Pop.
People from across the world united on Twitter to both pay tribute to the legend and aggregate news circulating the Internet about the day’s events. “MJ’s service is on the big screen in Times Square. Tourists are plopped on lawn chairs watching it. Kinda cool/living room-esque,” rippleintime17 tweeted.
